War is the business of the upper classes. Why should the peasant fight? World War I began in 1914 because European governments consisted entirely of aristocracy. Now with all these iPhones, an ordinary person has much more power over circumstances. Would there be a massacre of World War I if everyone had an iPhone? I doubt it. They would just all write to each other there: “Listen, don’t go to the Somme, don’t.”
